CCC 40.310.010(D)(10) prohibits portable signs, temporary signs, flags and banners unless a temporary sign permit is approved. A garage-sale sign is a portable/temporary sign for these purposes. Signs may not be located in or projecting into the county right-of-way without a written street use permit (D)(8), and rooftop signs are barred. Temporary sign permits in certain commercial zones run a maximum 30 days with no more than two per business per year. The sign code does not regulate signage not visible from adjacent properties or public rights-of-way, so a sign entirely on and viewed only from your own property is unaffected.
Unpermitted portable or garage-sale signs and any sign in the right-of-way without a street use permit are prohibited and may be removed by the county under CCC 40.310.010(D).
