Ada County has no leaf-blower-specific ordinance. Leaf blowers are landscape maintenance equipment governed by the general noise ordinance: prohibited 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, but allowed from 6:00 AM in June, July and August.
Unincorporated Ada County does not single out leaf blowers or set device-type bans. Their use is treated as landscape maintenance under section 5-13-3, which prohibits loud or unusual noise between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. The ordinance's summer exception allows landscape maintenance noise to begin at 6:00 AM during June, July and August due to extreme heat. During the day, blower noise still must not be plainly audible in another residence or 100 feet away on a public street in a way that disturbs a reasonable person.
Operating a blower during prohibited hours is a misdemeanor under section 5-13-5, punishable per Idaho Code 18-113.
