Construction hours in Ada County, ID โ sometimes called construction noise rules or contractor work-hour ordinances โ set when contractors can run power tools, hammers, and heavy equipment.
Ada County has no separate construction-hours ordinance; construction noise falls under the general 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM prohibition in chapter 13. In June, July and August, landscape maintenance may begin at 6:00 AM due to extreme heat.
Unincorporated Ada County does not set a distinct construction-hours schedule. Construction, landscaping and similar activity is covered by the general noise ordinance (section 5-13-3), which prohibits loud or unusual noise between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. The ordinance carves out one seasonal exception: during the summer months of June, July and August, landscape maintenance noise may begin at 6:00 AM because of extreme heat. Contractors working inside a city (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, etc.) must follow that city's own construction-hour rules instead.
Construction noise outside permitted hours is a misdemeanor under section 5-13-5, punishable per Idaho Code 18-113. The Board of County Commissioners may grant temporary waivers.
