Washtenaw County does not regulate lawn equipment. Ann Arbor adopted a phased gas-powered leaf-blower ordinance: beginning in 2024 gas leaf blowers are prohibited June 1 through September 30, with year-round prohibition planned after January 1, 2028. Under Chapter 119, Section 9:363(1) bans operating power tools or equipment (including blowers) between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., and Section 9:365(1) exempts power equipment run between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. only if it stays under 90 dB(A) beyond the property line. Ypsilanti and townships have no comparable gas-blower ban.
