Outdoor speakers, live music and backyard parties fall under noise-control Chapter 9.16: sound may not be audible 100 feet away, and quiet hours run 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Larger events may need Town coordination.
Outdoor amplified music, patio speakers and backyard live bands are regulated by Castle Rock Municipal Code Chapter 9.16 (Noise Control). The operative standard is that sound-producing devices may not be audible 100 feet away, nor audible through walls common to two parties. During quiet hours (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) enforcement is stricter, and Colorado's CRS 25-12-103 sets the residential dB backstop (55 dB(A) day / 50 dB(A) night at 25 feet). Block parties can be arranged with the Town, and special events on public property or in the parks are subject to separate Town permitting and park rules. This is a home-rule Town matter, not a county one.
Reported to Police non-emergency 303-663-6100 or via Report a Concern. Repeat outdoor-music disturbances can result in fines under the municipal code.
