Castle Rock has no blanket overnight on-street parking ban for ordinary passenger vehicles. However, large vehicles (10,000+ lb trucks, trailers, semitrailers, tractors) may not park on residential rights-of-way between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., and posted signs may restrict overnight parking.
The Town allows on-street parking generally, so most cars may be parked overnight. But under CRMC 10.16.010, it is unlawful to park a truck of 10,000 pounds or more gross vehicle weight, a trailer, utility trailer, semitrailer, truck tractor, or farm tractor on a public right-of-way adjacent to residential property during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Recreational vehicles are capped at 72 hours. Where authorized signs post overnight limits, those controls apply under the Model Traffic Code. A vehicle left over 72 hours may be deemed abandoned.
Large-vehicle overnight violations are traffic infractions with minimum fines of $100 / $250 / $500 for first, second, and third offenses within 12 months (CRMC 10.16.030).
