A recreational vehicle (including boats, campers, motor homes, and off-highway vehicles) may not sit on a public street next to a residential property for more than 72 consecutive hours in any 7-day period. Vehicles must otherwise park on an improved surface.
Castle Rock Municipal Code 10.16.010.B makes it unlawful to park any recreational vehicle longer than 72 consecutive hours in any seven-day period on a public right-of-way adjacent to residentially-zoned property. "Recreational vehicle" includes motor homes, camper coaches, camper trailers, trailer coaches, watercraft, snowmobiles, and off-highway vehicles. A vehicle violates if it has not moved outside a 1,000-foot radius during the 72 hours. On private property, the Town's residential rules require boats, trailers, and RVs to park on a driveway, parking lot, or other improved surface, not on grass or dirt.
A violation of Chapter 10.16 is a traffic infraction: minimum fine $100 first offense, $250 second offense, $500 third within any 12 months (CRMC 10.16.030).
