Outdoor and backyard music is governed by Chapter 96: it must not disturb the peace, and amplified sound audible 30 feet away on public property or from a vehicle is prohibited. No county noise-permit scheme exists for private yards.
The Fort Wayne–Allen County noise chapter applies to outdoor parties, patios, and events. Amplified music is limited by the 30-foot audibility test (§ 96.05) when on public property or from a vehicle, and any live or recorded outdoor music that becomes loud, unreasonable, or offensive can be cited as a peace disturbance (§ 96.04). Special events on public property may require separate city permits, but unincorporated Allen County sets no dedicated outdoor-music permit or curfew beyond the general noise rules.
Disturbing outdoor music cited under Chapter 96; fine $150–$500 per offense, each day a separate offense (§ 96.99).
