In unincorporated Allen County, licensed and operable recreational vehicles, campers, boats and pull-behind trailers up to 100 sq ft may be parked at a home only in a driveway or on an improved surface directly connected to a driveway.
The Allen County Zoning Ordinance (Title 3, Article 4, section 3-4-2-1) governs residential parking in the unincorporated county. In any residential district, RVs, campers, boats and small trailers are permitted only when licensed, operable, and parked on a driveway or an improved surface connected to it. Larger pull-behind trailers over 100 sq ft are prohibited outside on residential lots. Broader outdoor storage (semi-trailers, buses, oversized trailers) is allowed only on A1 agricultural parcels over five acres. Inside Fort Wayne, New Haven or other towns, the city's own code applies instead of the county's.
Zoning enforcement by Fort Wayne-Allen County Planning; property owners receive notice to remove, then face civil zoning penalties for non-compliance.
