Allen County sets no general overnight street-parking ban. But an illegally parked vehicle that stays ticketed for more than 48 hours, or that creates a safety hazard, may be towed and impounded by county police.
The Allen County Traffic Code does not prohibit ordinary overnight parking on county roads. Instead, it targets vehicles left illegally parked: once ticketed, a vehicle that remains in violation for more than 48 hours, or that presents a hazard to motorists, pedestrians or the public, may be taken into custody by the Allen County Police Department and removed to a storage facility at the owner's expense. Residential RVs, campers and boats must still park on a driveway or connected improved surface under the county zoning ordinance, not overnight on lawns.
Illegally parked over 48 hours: vehicle impounded by Allen County Police; owner pays towing and storage costs plus the underlying parking fine.
