Quiet hours in Allen County, IN — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Allen County has no separate unincorporated quiet-hours code; the Fort Wayne–Allen County noise chapter governs the metro. General quiet hours run 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with any peace-disturbing noise prohibited at all times.
Noise for Fort Wayne and surrounding Allen County is controlled by Chapter 96 (Noise Control and Other Sensory Control), adopted jointly by the Fort Wayne–Allen County authorities. It prohibits making or permitting "any loud, raucous, improper, unreasonable, offensive, or unusual noise" that disturbs the peace, with heightened enforcement overnight (roughly 11 p.m.–7 a.m.). Outside incorporated cities, unincorporated Allen County residents rely on this metro chapter plus the county's general nuisance authority under Indiana Code 36-7-4. Amplified sound audible 30 feet away is a per-se violation.
Fine of not less than $150 nor more than $500 per offense under § 96.99; each day a violation continues is a separate offense.
