Venice Code Ch. 42 (Miscellaneous Offenses) Sec. 42-4 declares parked, junked or inoperable vehicles stored on public or visible private property a nuisance. Sec. 42-4 (Garage / Vehicle nuisance) provides the citation framework and authorizes tow at owner expense.
Sec. 42-4 of the Venice Code (Garage and Vehicle nuisance section, GAVE) defines an abandoned or junked vehicle as one that is wrecked, dismantled, inoperable, or without current registration and license tags. Storage of such a vehicle on public property, public right-of-way, or in front- or side-yard portions of private property visible from the street is prohibited. Code Enforcement posts a 72-hour removal notice; if not removed, the vehicle is towed under Fla. Stat. 715.07. Inoperable vehicles fully enclosed in a garage are exempt.
Each day of non-compliance is a separate Code offense under Sec. 1-14 with fines up to $500. Towing and storage costs are billed to the owner; liens may be recorded against the property.
