Lehigh County does not regulate commercial-vehicle parking; cities and boroughs do. Allentown makes it unlawful to park buses, tractor trailers, trailers and oversized vehicles on residential streets outside the I-2 and I-3 industrial districts.
Pennsylvania counties do not zone, so commercial-vehicle parking is governed by your municipality. Allentown's Chapter 615, Article XIV bars parking buses, dual-wheel motor homes, school buses, tractor trailers, trailers, truck campers and “oversized” vehicles on any residential street or street abutting a residential zone, in every Chapter 660 zoning district except I-2 (Limited Industrial) and I-3 (General Industrial). A trailer also may not be parked on a street unless a means of mechanical traction is attached (§615-51). The stated purpose is safety on Allentown's narrow 36-foot streets. Other Lehigh Valley municipalities set their own limits, often through zoning; commercial trucks on residential lots are separately capped by Allentown zoning §660-90.
Allentown truck/trailer violations: $100 within 10 days, $150 after; immediate tow allowed if the vehicle poses a safety hazard (§615-64).
