Lima designates truck, bus and business loading zones through its Traffic Commission and Chapter 452. Vehicles may stand in a marked loading zone only long enough to load or unload; general parking there is prohibited.
Under Chapter 452 (Parking Generally), Lima's Traffic Commission has authority to create, abolish and regulate bus loading/unloading zones and business (truck) loading zones. In a designated loading zone, a vehicle may stand only for the time needed to load or unload passengers or freight, and other parking is prohibited. Downtown curb loading zones are marked by signs and, where applicable, curb markings. Section 452.03 separately bars parking in intersections, on crosswalks and near fire hydrants. Enforcement of loading-zone and other parking violations runs through Chapter 404 (Enforcement; Impounding).
Parking in a loading zone beyond loading/unloading, or in violation of posted signs, is ticketed under Chapters 452 and 404; repeat vehicles may be booted or towed.
