Oversized vehicles - buses, semi-trailers, semi-trucks, trucks over one ton, and pull-behind trailers over 100 sq ft - may not be parked outside on residential lots. They are allowed outside only on A1 agricultural parcels over five acres, and only two of them.
The Allen County Zoning Ordinance treats large vehicles as oversized for residential districts. Section 3-4-2-1(3) prohibits parking or storing semi-trailers, semi-trucks, buses, large pickup or panel trucks over one ton, and pull-behind trailers larger than 100 square feet outside a public right-of-way in residential districts. The narrow exception: on an A1 agricultural district parcel over five acres, up to two such vehicles may be parked outside. Pull-behind trailers up to 100 square feet remain fine in a residential driveway. Inside incorporated cities the city zoning code applies.
Zoning violation enforced by the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Planning Services; notice to remove followed by civil enforcement.
