Hawaiʻi County Code has no length- or weight-specific oversized-vehicle street ban, but any vehicle too large for a marked stall must still keep off the main traveled roadway and leave at least ten feet of the roadway clear for traffic.
Chapter 24 does not set a dedicated size threshold for oversized vehicles on streets. Instead, Sec. 24-187 forbids leaving any vehicle standing on the paved, main-traveled part of the highway outside designated parking areas. Sec. 24-198 lets single vehicles longer or wider than a marked stall extend beyond it only as needed, while Sec. 24-192 requires that at least ten feet of roadway width stay free for traffic. Oversized trailers or equipment left over 24 hours are deemed abandoned nuisances (Sec. 24-199).
Traffic infraction; Chapter 24 fine up to $100 first offense (Sec. 24-16). Abandoned oversized trailer/equipment: $250 plus removal (Sec. 24-199).
