The County of Hawaiʻi has no separate storage-parking ban aimed only at commercial vehicles. The general Chapter 24 street rules apply: commercial trucks may park only in lawfully designated areas and off the traveled roadway, and freight loading is time-limited.
Unlike Honolulu, Hawaiʻi County Code Chapter 24 does not contain a dedicated “storage parking of commercial vehicles prohibited” section. Commercial vehicles are bound by the same rules as other vehicles: Sec. 24-187 (no standing outside designated parking areas), Sec. 24-192 (must leave at least ten feet of roadway free), and the freight-loading-zone limits of Sec. 24-209 and 24-210 (30-minute maximum, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.). Vehicles left over 24 hours are deemed abandoned (Sec. 24-199).
General Chapter 24 fines up to $100 first offense, $200 second, $500 third (Sec. 24-16). Abandoned commercial vehicle: $250 plus removal (Sec. 24-199).
