On private residential property, the Unified Development Code (UDC §5.16.8) prohibits storing recreational equipment in front yards or in the area between the front of the principal structure and the street.
Recreational equipment must be stored in a side or rear yard, behind the front building line, on a hard surface (asphalt, concrete, or compacted gravel) and screened from neighboring properties where feasible. Use of an RV, camper, or trailer as a dwelling unit on a residential lot is prohibited under the zoning code, including overnight sleeping. Oversized trailers (wider than 8 feet) typically require Planning Department review. Snow emergency declarations override regular street parking rules during winter storms.
On-street violations trigger parking tickets starting at $30 and escalating with each repeat.
