Kansas sets no statewide street-parking clock, but Topeka prohibits parking in one spot on a public street for more than 48 continuous hours. Snow-route bans apply during declared snow emergencies.
Topeka's code makes it unlawful to park, store, or leave any vehicle on a public street for more than 48 continuous hours, so cars cannot be stored curbside. Standard prohibited-parking rules apply too: no blocking a fire hydrant within 15 feet, an intersection, or a crosswalk, echoing K.S.A. 8-1571. When the public works director declares a snow-route emergency, on-street parking is banned on posted emergency snow routes until the emergency ends. On rural unincorporated county roads there is no posted time limit, but a vehicle may not obstruct the traveled way.
Parking past 48 hours, blocking a hydrant or intersection, or sitting on an emergency snow route brings a citation and possible tow at the owner's expense.
