Coral Springs enforces strict trash bin placement and storage rules under Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances (Property Maintenance). Carts must be placed within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00 AM on collection days with the handle facing away from the street and must be returned to storage by 7:00 PM the same day. Only city-provided carts are serviced.
Under Chapter 8 of the Coral Springs Code of Ordinances and the city's waste services contract with Coastal Waste & Recycling, residents must follow specific bin placement and storage requirements. Garbage and recycling carts must be placed within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00 AM on collection day with the cart handle facing away from the street and the lid opening facing the roadway. All garbage must be contained inside the cart with the lid fully closed β items may not extend above the top rim. Carts must be returned to their designated storage area by 7:00 PM on collection day. Only city-provided green (garbage) and blue (recycling) carts are serviced; resident-owned containers will not be collected. Between collection days, carts must be stored behind the front plane of the house or in a screened area not visible from the street. The Code Compliance Division enforces bin storage violations as part of the 'Love Where You Live' property maintenance program. Coral Springs has twice-weekly garbage collection and once-weekly recycling collection.
Leaving carts at the curb past 7 PM on collection day or placing them out before the permitted time is a code violation under Chapter 8. Storing bins in front of the home between collection days may result in a code compliance citation under Section 1-8.1. Fines are assessed through the Special Magistrate process for repeat violations.
