Dunedin requires city-issued solid waste carts to be placed curbside no earlier than 6 p.m. the day before collection and removed within 24 hours after pickup, with materials following weight, size, and bundling limits.
Chapter 66 of the Dunedin Code of Ordinances governs solid waste collection. Residents must use city-issued carts for household garbage and mixed recycling, both serviced once per week by Dunedin Solid Waste and WastePro. Carts should be placed at the curb with the lid opening toward the street, at least three feet from mailboxes, vehicles, and other carts. Collection day setouts may not occur before 6 p.m. the prior evening, and empty carts must be returned to a side or rear yard within 24 hours after pickup. Bagged or canned trash cannot weigh more than 50 pounds, brush bundles must be tied and under 4 feet long, and items deemed non-conforming will be tagged and left.
Carts left at the curb, overweight bags, untied brush, or improper containers result in courtesy notices followed by code enforcement fines for repeat violations.
