Polk County Solid Waste serves unincorporated homes with county-issued roll carts. All household waste must be placed inside the garbage roll cart, the lid must open to the street, and no other container may be used for household waste. Set the cart out by 6 a.m. on your collection day (or the night before). Position it within 3 feet of the curb or edge of the street and at least 3 feet from other fixed objects such as mailboxes and cars so the automated truck arm can reach it. Items not in compliance will not be collected and, if left out, may draw a code enforcement violation.
Non-compliant setout is not collected; carts left at the curb after pickup can be cited by Polk County Code Enforcement as a property-maintenance violation.
