Troutdale, OR Property Maintenance: Trash Bin Storage (2026)

Portland City Code 17.102 (Solid Waste and Recycling Collection) requires residential trash and recycling containers to be stored behind the front building line of the dwelling, in a garage, behind a fence, or screened from direct street view between collection days. Containers may be placed at the curb no earlier than 6:00 PM the evening before pickup and must be removed from the curb within 24 hours of collection, per PCC 17.102.275. Portland residents use a 3-cart system: green compost/yard debris (weekly), blue recycling (every other week), and black garbage (weekly or every other week).
