Washington law RCW 17.10.140 requires every Clark County property owner to eradicate Class A noxious weeds and control designated Class B and C weeds. The county nuisance code also targets vegetation that harbors debris or creates hazards.
There is no simple county-wide lawn-height number in unincorporated Clark County; instead the enforceable duty is the state noxious weed law. RCW 17.10.140 requires owners to eradicate all Class A weeds and control and prevent the spread of Class B weeds designated for control in the region plus locally listed Class B and C weeds. The Clark County Noxious Weed Control Program administers the county weed list and complaints. Overgrown vegetation that conceals junk or becomes a fire or sight hazard can also be addressed under CCC 9.24 nuisance provisions.
Noxious weed enforcement under RCW 17.10 can require owner control and, if ignored, county action and cost recovery. Vegetation nuisances are abated under CCC 9.24.
