State law (36 O.S.) does not require STR-specific liability insurance, and Tulsa County does not impose a county-level certificate-of-insurance filing for STR operators in Bixby. Hosts should confirm before each listing year that their primary policy includes a short-term rental endorsement, since lapses are not covered by platform-only programs.
Bixby cannot revoke an STR registration for lack of insurance because no registration program exists. However, operating an STR without an endorsement on the underlying homeowner policy can leave the host personally liable for guest injuries, and a serious incident can also trigger nuisance enforcement under Title 5 Chapter 5 (Offenses) by the Bixby Police Department Code Enforcement office.
