Flower Mound requires STR operators to register through the GovOS platform at flower-mound.munirevs.com for hotel occupancy tax collection. Registration launched November 20, 2023. The process requires property address, owner information, and platform listing details. Monthly HOT returns must be filed even in months with zero rental activity.
All short-term rental operators in Flower Mound must register through the GovOS (MuniRevs) platform at flower-mound.munirevs.com. The registration process launched on November 20, 2023 and requires the property address, owner or operator contact information, and details of the platform(s) where the property is listed (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, etc.). Upon registration, operators receive a hotel occupancy tax account and must file monthly returns through the platform, remitting the 7% city HOT. Returns must be filed even in months with zero rental nights (zero-dollar returns). The state 6% HOT is filed separately with the Texas Comptroller or may be collected automatically by platforms with voluntary collection agreements. Registration is not a land-use permit and does not authorize STR activity that conflicts with HOA deed restrictions. For registration assistance, contact STR@flowermound.gov or call (888) 751-1911.
Failure to register: subject to Texas Comptroller enforcement for non-remittance of HOT. Late HOT filings incur penalties typically 5% of tax due plus interest. Town general code fines up to $500 per day for non-compliance.
