Flower Mound, TX Fire Regulations: Fireworks (2026)

The Town of Flower Mound prohibits the sale, possession, and discharge of all consumer fireworks within its municipal boundaries. Texas Occupations Code Chapter 2154 governs fireworks statewide and explicitly authorizes municipalities to ban fireworks within their jurisdiction. Flower Mound exercises this authority through its local ordinance. The ban covers all consumer fireworks including firecrackers, bottle rockets, Roman candles, sparklers (except wire sparklers and snakes in some interpretations), and aerial devices. The Town hosts a professional fireworks display each Independence Day, typically at one of its public parks or community venues. Fireworks discharged near the Cross Timbers Conservation area, Grapevine Lake grasslands, and wooded residential lots pose elevated fire risk due to dry vegetation. Denton County may issue burn bans during drought conditions that further restrict any outdoor flame or ignition source. Nearby unincorporated Denton County areas may allow fireworks when no burn ban is in effect, but bringing them back into Flower Mound town limits is prohibited.
