Flower Mound does not impose a town-wide overnight street parking ban, but TX Transportation Code Sec. 545.307 prohibits overnight commercial vehicle parking in posted residential subdivisions from 10 PM to 6 AM. HOA CC&Rs in most master-planned communities restrict or prohibit overnight street parking for all vehicle types.
Flower Mound does not have a blanket overnight parking prohibition for personal vehicles on public streets. However, TX Transportation Code Sec. 545.307 prohibits commercial motor vehicle parking on residential streets between 10 PM and 6 AM in subdivisions that have posted signs. Vehicles left on public streets for more than 72 consecutive hours without being moved may be classified as abandoned under TX Transportation Code Ch. 683 and tagged for towing. On private residential property, vehicles must be parked on improved surfaces (concrete, asphalt, or pave stone) per Sec. 66-174 regardless of the time of day. Most Flower Mound master-planned communities have HOA CC&Rs that restrict overnight street parking. Some neighborhoods require all vehicles to be in garages or driveways by a specified time. Guests parking overnight on the street may need to notify the HOA in certain communities. Contact Flower Mound PD non-emergency at (972) 874-3000 to report overnight parking concerns.
Commercial vehicle overnight parking violation: fine up to $500. Abandoned vehicle on public property after 72 hours: subject to towing at owner expense.
