The STR lodging license must be renewed every year on or before November 1 for the following year. Renewal requires the $750 processing fee plus proof of ownership, insurance, and continued approvals.
The parish application states: "Short Term Rentals processing fee is $750.00 and must be renewed annually by the first day of November each calendar year." A copy of the establishment's brochure, proof of ownership (or an affidavit authorizing a local responsible party), proof of general liability insurance of $500,000 or more, and approval from Property Maintenance/Zoning, JPSO, and the Parish Attorney's Office must accompany the application. An affidavit designating a local responsible party is required when the license is issued to that party. Long-term rentals of 30 or more consecutive days are excluded.
A license not renewed by November 1 lapses; misrepresentation on the application may result in revocation. Continued STR operation without a valid license triggers code enforcement.
