Dunedin permits temporary garage sale signs on residentially-zoned property under the city sign code, but prohibits placement in public rights-of-way, on utility poles, and on traffic-control signs, with strict size and removal requirements.
Per Dunedin's Appendix A definitions and Chapter 105 sign code, a garage or yard sale sign is a temporary on-site sign pertaining to the sale of personal property at a residence (including lawn, attic, rummage, patio, and moving sales). Signs must be on the host property and conform to the residential temporary-sign limit of four signs per parcel, four square feet each, and four feet in height. Section 105-29.1.3 prohibits signs in public rights-of-way, attached to utility poles or traffic signs, or placed on public property. Signs must be removed promptly after the sale.
Off-site or right-of-way signs may be removed without notice by the city, and repeat violations can result in code enforcement citations and fines.
