Dunedin allows up to four temporary signs per residential parcel, including political signs, with each sign limited to four square feet and four feet in height, consistent with Florida Statute 106.1435 governing political advertisements.
Dunedin's sign code in Chapter 105 of the Land Development Code regulates temporary signs as content-neutral. On residential parcels, up to four temporary signs may be displayed, each not exceeding four square feet of sign area and four feet in height. Political signs are treated as a category of temporary sign and need not be permitted, but they may not be placed in public rights-of-way, on utility poles, or in a manner that obstructs traffic visibility. Political committees must remove signs within 30 days after the election under Florida Statute 106.1435.
Improperly placed political signs may be removed by the city and result in code enforcement notices. Failure to remove signs after an election can incur fines.
