Under Dunedin Code Section 107-41.1, operating construction equipment is prohibited between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on any day, and at any time on Sundays, to protect neighborhood quiet enjoyment.
Dunedin's noise ordinance restricts construction-related sound to standard daytime hours. The operation of construction equipment is unlawful between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, and prohibited entirely on Sundays. Even within permitted hours, equipment that exceeds 65 A-weighted decibels at the complainant's property line may be cited. Contractors should plan deliveries, demolition, pile driving, and heavy equipment work around the allowed window. Emergency utility repairs and certain public works activities may receive limited exemptions through coordination with the city.
Code violations may result in citations, fines up to $500 per offense, and stop-work orders for repeated or egregious construction noise violations.
