Dunedin Land Development Code section 107-41.1 makes it unlawful to produce noise that disturbs persons of ordinary sensibilities, with amplified sound restrictions from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and a 65 dB(A) property-line cap.
Section 107-41.1 of Dunedin's Land Development Code prohibits any noise that, by volume, duration, or character, annoys, disturbs, injures, or endangers the comfort, health, peace, or safety of reasonable persons. Amplified sound that can be heard outside the property line where it is generated is prohibited from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. any day of the week. At any time, sound exceeding 65 A-weighted decibels measured at the complainant's property line is unlawful. Ordinance 24-22 (September 2024) refined the amplified-sound rules and clarified a New Year's Eve exception.
First-tier code violations may carry fines up to $500 per offense or up to 60 days' imprisonment, with each day a separate violation.
