Dunedin Code Section 107-41.1 prohibits amplified music or sound audible beyond the property line from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and caps amplified sound at 65 dB(A) at the property line at all times.
Bars, restaurants, breweries, and residences in Dunedin must keep amplified music and sound from being heard beyond the property line where it is generated between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. any day of the week. At all hours, amplified sound may not exceed 65 A-weighted decibels measured at the complainant's property line. Ordinance 24-22 (adopted September 2024) refined these definitions and added a New Year's Eve carve-out allowing amplified celebration sound, while preserving the 65 dB(A) cap. The rule applies to live music, DJs, PA systems, and outdoor speakers.
Violations may result in code citations, fines up to $500 per offense, and could affect special-event approvals or outdoor entertainment endorsements.
