Dunedin Code Section 107-41.1 prohibits operation of leaf blowers and other lawn maintenance equipment between sunset and 7:00 a.m., and at any time when the noise becomes a continuous nuisance to neighbors.
Sounds produced by lawn maintenance equipment, including leaf blowers, mowers, edgers, and string trimmers, are unlawful between sunset and 7:00 a.m. on any day. Within permitted hours, continuous operation that disturbs persons of ordinary sensibilities or exceeds 65 A-weighted decibels at the complainant's property line may also be cited. Commercial landscapers, homeowners, and HOA contractors are all bound by this rule. Battery-powered or low-decibel alternatives may help avoid violations early in the morning or in dense residential neighborhoods.
Violations are enforced as code or noise infractions, with fines up to $500 per offense and each day of continued operation deemed a separate violation.
