Escambia County has no separate garage-sale-sign ordinance. Yard-sale signs are temporary signs under the county Land Development Code (Chapter 5, Article 8); they may not be placed in the public road right-of-way and should be removed promptly after the sale.
Signs advertising a garage, yard, or estate sale in unincorporated Escambia County are treated as temporary signs under the Land Development Code's outdoor-sign provisions (Chapter 5, Article 8), not under a dedicated garage-sale rule. As with political and other temporary signs, they may not be placed in the public right-of-way (the strip between the road and private property), attached to utility poles or traffic signs, or positioned where they block driver sightlines. Signs on state highways are additionally governed by Florida Statutes Chapter 479, and the Florida DOT may remove right-of-way signs. Keep sale signs on private property with the owner's permission and take them down when the sale ends. The City of Pensacola applies its own sign code inside
Garage-sale signs placed in the public right-of-way, on utility poles, or blocking sightlines may be removed by the county or Florida DOT. Repeated or obstructive violations are enforced by Escambia County Code Enforcement under the LDC sign standards.
