Following the US Supreme Court Reed v. Town of Gilbert decision, Temple Terrace cannot treat political signs differently from other temporary signs on the basis of content. Signs cannot be placed in the public right-of-way or attached to utility poles, traffic signs, or trees. FL §106.1435 preempts local ordinances that would require political sign removal before election day or prohibit reasonable election-period display.
