Garage sale signs are classified as temporary event signs under the Temple Terrace sign code. Signs must be placed only on private property with the owners consent, must not exceed 4 square feet, and cannot be attached to utility poles, street sign posts, or trees in the public right-of-way. Signs placed in medians or in the right-of-way are routinely removed by Public Works and disposed of. All garage sale signs must be removed within 24 hours after the sale concludes. Directional signs placed at intersections without property-owner consent are treated as right-of-way violations.
