Jacksonville's Code of Ordinances Chapter 250 establishes specific vending zone restrictions. Mobile Food Dispensing Vendors (food trucks) cannot operate: within 75 feet of any sidewalk vendor who has been granted an assigned location permit; within 15 feet in all directions of any fire hydrant; within 50 feet from a brick-and-mortar business selling similar products (unless written consent obtained); or on any street or parking lot that blocks traffic flow. Hours of operation must cease at 3:00 AM eastern time and resume no earlier than 6:00 AM eastern time, unless a Special Events Permit has been obtained for the specific event. Sidewalk vendors (Part 3) must operate from assigned locations only; roaming is not permitted. The Downtown Investment Authority (DIA) may establish additional vendor location guidelines for the downtown core. Vending in city parks requires JaxParks approval. The Southbank Riverwalk, Northbank Riverwalk, and Jacksonville Landing area have designated temporary docking and vending zones governed by Chapter 615.
Operating in restricted zone: citation, fine up to $500. Operating outside permitted hours: citation. Blocking traffic: traffic violation plus vendor citation.
