Because the safety features are inspected before the pool may be used, owners should confirm which combination they will install at plan check.
Failing to provide the required safety features results in denial of final inspection and prohibits lawful use of the pool. Disabling a required feature afterward is a code violation enforceable by the Development Services Department and may create civil liability under the state Swimming Pool Safety Act.
