Nueces County sets no cart set-out rules for the unincorporated area. Corpus Christi requires recyclables (and garbage) to be set out before 7:30 a.m. on the collection day and kept at least five feet from any fixed object that could impede collection (§ 21-11).
There is no county bin-placement ordinance because Nueces County does not run collection outside cities. Corpus Christi's Chapter 21 governs set-out for city residents: recyclables must be set out before 7:30 a.m. on the designated collection day, placed in the department-issued recycling cart marked with the recycling symbol, separated from other solid waste, and kept at least five feet from any fixed object (mailboxes, poles, parked cars) that impedes automated collection. The city's customer guide adds that carts must be removed from the curb the same day.
Improperly placed or late-set carts in Corpus Christi may not be collected and can draw code-compliance fines.
