Curbside customers in unincorporated Lake County can schedule one bulky-item pickup of free items twice per year at no charge through their hauler. Large appliances carry a $10 fee. Items can also be self-hauled to the Eastlake Landfill near Clearlake.
Lake County's bulky-item program lets residents with curbside service in areas served by South Lake Refuse & Recycling and Lake County Waste Solutions schedule a bulky-item collection twice per year at no charge. Free items include furniture, couches, recliners, bed frames, box springs, mattresses, carpet, barbeques, plumbing fixtures, windows, electronics, televisions, computers, printers, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, bicycles, toys, sporting equipment, lawn mowers, wheelbarrows and dryers. A $10 fee applies to large appliances containing refrigerant or heavy components: air conditioners, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers, stoves and ovens, washing machines, and water heaters. Residents must contact their hauler to schedule an appointment and should not place items outside their bins without first scheduling. Additional bulky items beyond the free allotment can be collected for a fee. Residents may also self-haul bulky items and other waste directly to the Eastlake Landfill at 16015 Davis Ave, Clearlake, open Monday–Saturday 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (closed Sundays and county holidays), for the applicable disposal fee.
Setting bulky items out without a scheduled appointment may result in items being left behind. Illegally dumping bulky waste is prohibited and enforced by the County.
