The program is administered by Circular Action Alliance. In the interim, Aurora, Centennial, Littleton, and Englewood provide curbside single-stream recycling through licensed haulers. Accepted materials: newspaper, office paper, cardboard (flattened), glass bottles/jars, aluminum cans, steel/tin cans, and plastic bottles #1 and #2 (some haulers accept #5). Rejected contaminants: plastic bags (tangle equipment), Styrofoam, food-contaminated containers, electronics, and yard waste. Aurora City Code §138-103 and Centennial Waste Contract require residential recycling access. Multi-family properties with 8+ units in Aurora must provide recycling per City Code §138-103. Cherry Creek State Park and surrounding areas have additional waste restrictions to protect the reservoir watershed. Composting programs offered separately by some haulers (Compost Colorado, A1 Organics).
