Middlesex County cities use single-stream recycling collected weekly or biweekly. Contamination rules prohibit plastic bags, tanglers, food-soiled items, and non-containers. Repeat contamination can result in warning stickers and eventual service suspension. Businesses generating over one ton of solid waste weekly must have a recycling program.
