Fairfax Water customers are urged to report visible main breaks or service-line leaks to the 24-hour FCWA Operations line; high-bill leak adjustments are available once per account every 24 months.
Fairfax Water operates a 24/7 Operations line at 703-698-5800 for main breaks, geyser leaks, and low-pressure events. Customers can also report online through the FCWA portal. After utility repairs, customers responsible for service-line leaks past the meter may apply for a Leak Adjustment that credits half the excess consumption. Eligibility requires a verified repair invoice, prior good payment history, and one adjustment per 24-month period. Sewer charges from the same leak may also be partially adjusted by the county Wastewater Management District.
No fines for reporting; failure to repair a known service-line leak after written notice can lead to service termination after a 30-day cure period.
