Corpus Christi does not maintain a standalone tiny-home ordinance, so tiny or small dwellings are regulated under the same building and zoning standards that apply to all residential construction. A tiny home on a permanent foundation is treated as a single-family dwelling and must comply with the 2021 International Residential Code as adopted by the city, which sets minimum standards for habitable room sizes (at least one room of 120 square feet, other rooms at least 70 square feet), ceiling height (7 feet minimum), emergency egress, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical ventilation.
