Impounded cats made available for adoption must be spayed or neutered before release under Section 6.20.050.
Cat ownership itself is not penalized, but exceeding the zoning household cat limit without a kennel/cattery permit is a zoning violation. Abandoning any animal, including a cat, in Placer County is unlawful under Section 6.08.010(I).
