Asbury Park requires all dogs to be leashed when off owner's property. The city designates a specific Dog Beach accessible via Deal Lake Drive entrance or north end of Fisherman's Parking Lot. In-season (May 16–Sep 14): dogs allowed on Dog Beach only 6 PM to 8:30 AM, must be off beach by 8:30 AM; dogs prohibited on all other beach areas and the boardwalk. Off-season (Sep 15–May 15): licensed, supervised, leashed dogs welcome on the boardwalk and Dog Beach at all times. Dogs may be off-leash on Dog Beach if supervised and no seals present (seals are federally protected under Marine Mammal Protection Act). Aggressive dogs must be immediately leashed and removed. All dogs must wear collars with valid licenses. Waste cleanup is mandatory everywhere.
