Long Branch requires all dogs to be leashed when off their owner's property, consistent with NJ state requirements under N.J.S.A. 4:19-15.16. Dogs are permitted on municipal beaches from October 1 through April 30 between Seaview Avenue and Brighton Avenue only, and must be leashed with owners responsible for waste removal. Dogs are completely prohibited from all Long Branch beaches from May 1 through September 30 during the summer season. Dogs are also prohibited from the boardwalk and promenade year-round. All dogs must be licensed per Chapter 109-2 with current rabies vaccination. Licenses must be renewed by January 31 through the Health/Animal Control Department.
