State law criminalizes feeding or attracting alligators (2nd-degree misdemeanor, up to $500 fine and 60 days). FWC rule 68A-4.001 prohibits feeding bears and sandhill cranes. Duval County ACPS enforces alongside FWC. Intentional feeding of feral cats that creates nuisance may be cited under Chapter 462 sanitation provisions. Bird feeders and backyard wildlife feeders are generally permitted unless creating a public nuisance.
